Wondering if you can do Hypnobirthing at Fiona Stanley Hospital ?
Well read this.
I thank Lisa-Marie for sharing her story with us and her thoughts.
I know they will inspire other couples to have an awesome birth.
I think you will agree with me that Lisa-Marie and Jarrad should only feel pride and joy when they look back on their birth. How many women could do a uni assignment in labour?
“Hi Pip,
Just thought I would let you know that I gave birth to my beautiful boy Louie Jack Sara on Wednesday morning at 3.30 am 7 pounds 10 ounces.
Here’s my story…
I started have cramping early Tuesday morning and it continued through out the day.
I was in denial I was in labour though and thought it might have been Braxton hicks.
I listened to my hypnobirthing tracks and sniffed my clary sage on the birth ball remaining calm and relaxed.
Jarrad came home around 3 pm and, as I was trying to finish a uni assignment, my waters broke around 4.30pm.
Off to the hospital we went where it quickly progressed.
I had my mum, sister and Jarrad with me.
I laboured with dim lights and music playing for a while in a birthing room until I moved to the water birthing room.
Through out this my surges where getting more intense but I felt in control the whole time. I was still able to talk after each surge.
I got into the bath around 10.30pm. The surges got really intense and on top of each other.
I was surge breathing and making some rather primal noises to get me through each one.
I soon felt my body starting to push Louie down which was the most amazing out of this world feeling.
He then slowed down and didn’t seem to be moving down any more and I was getting quite exhausted. I ended up activity pushing the last 2 hrs as I just wanted him out.
I was amazed by the Primal “singing” that I was doing during this time. I could never make those noises now!
I pushed him out at 3.34am and pulled his body out from me. This was the most amazing feeling.
Hypnobirthing helped me stay calm and in control and I never felt panicked.
The only thing I wish I could have changed in hindsight was maybe not pushed so hard at the end, tho I had been pushing for a while so I was tiring out either way.
I had no tearing, just grazes.
Thanks so much for everything you taught me. I am so happy and in awe of what females can do and so is Jarrad!
Louie is thriving and is a peaceful sleeping baby so far.”
