I just love getting birth announcement emails.
Mykala and Frazer are from the UK so just booked in at their local hospital when they found out they were pregnant.
They had no idea of the different birthing options in Perth.
Luckily my classes have couples birthing in all the different maternity systems so we were able to discuss this during the class.
This is actually one of the main reasons I think Childbirth Education should be independent of hospitals. I never have to “teach to a system” and my couples learn a lot from other couples who have chosen different birthing environments.
After all, if you don’t know all your options how can you possibly choose the one that is right for you?
(If you want to find out more about your Birth Options in Perth HERE is a blog I wrote a while ago.)
I am so pleased that Mykala and Frazer chose the option that they felt would be the best for them and I know this helped them get the birth they truly wanted.
Anyway here is the email announcement.
I can’t wait for the full story…
“Hi Pip,
Hope you’re well.
I just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know that on Monday 19th March at 10.10pm we welcomed our beautiful baby girl – Evelyn Harper Dickson calmly into the world.
I am so pleased with how the birth went, it was everything we had hoped for, we even made time for bacon and egg sandwiches. 🙂
A truly calm, positive and an amazing experience.
We managed a 26-hour labour totally drug-free outlet using all the hypnobirthing toolkit you provided us with. (Full birth story to follow).
It was a wonderful and natural water birth experience that we can remember forever.
Thank you once again for pointing us in the direction of the Family Birth Centre.
Speak soon,
Mykala, Frazer and Evelyn x “
